Support to members

Today’s world is an increasingly difficult world for tourism businesses, especially small ones. We all want to see less regulation but when the question is asked which regulations should be abolished, it is often hard to find examples. Regulation is therefore likely to remain a fact of life in a society where most people want risks to safety, risks of customers being dishonestly treated, risks to the environment, and bad employment practices to be tightly controlled.

Finding your way through the jungle can be difficult and it is especially hard to keep up with change.

Members receive a monthly newsletter HHA News that helps with this problem. It also contains news about the Association, the industry, and tourism issues more generally, and occasionally features on other topics of interest to the self catering business.

If you have a specific business problem we may be able to help, or to point you in the right direction for advice.

Members can and indeed should display the HHA Logo on their websites, and printed material, and at their premises if they have a suitable location. The HHA Logo is a sign of a responsible tourism business that complies with a code of practice and can be trusted by customers.

The HHA website includes a members-only section where members have access to back numbers of EASCO News (now called HHA News), and other supporting documents such as our guidance on fire risk assessments.
