The ancient Bideford bridge is just down the hill and leads to the popular Tarka Trail, which is ideal for cycling and walking. Great location for accessing the South West Coast Path. Westward Ho! beach (swimming/surfing/sandcastles) is about 3 miles away. Appledore, Instow and The Big Sheep and Milky Way theme parks are all nearby.
